Description

King's Business School Alumni Breakfasts are designed to fit around a busy work schedule, providing industry professionals with exclusive access to the latest research taking place at King’s Business School alongside practical insights and reflections. We'll be bringing you an exciting programme of breakfast events, hosted by inspiring academics and business leaders.

What does it take to build an ethical business?

Sudden or disastrous events that highlight business irresponsibility are becoming all too regular. The recent Volkswagen emissions scandal, BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 and the Rana Plaza factory collapse which took place 5 years ago this April are notable examples. But must we rely on these destructive and often deadly events to change irresponsible behaviour? And are they the trigger for more positive interventions?

Join Juliane Reinecke, Professor of International Management & Sustainability and Associate Dean of Impact & Innovation at King's Business School, for a thought provoking seminar examining how far organisations have come, and how far we have to go to create socially responsible business in the 21st century. With cutting edge research taken from Professor Reinecke's fascinating study into the actions following the Rana Plaza disaster, this promises to be a truly stimulating event for business leaders and aspiring leaders across all sectors.

We're also delighted that King's President & Principal, Professor Edward Byrne, will be joining us at this event. Hosted in King's Business School's new location of Bush House, we'll open at for breakfast and networking at 7:30am with the seminar and Q&A taking place from 8am - 8:45am.
